Incase you had missed the memo, cleansing your face with a
balm is all the rage. I have no strong feelings against other cleansers but as I
have mentioned in other posts Caroline Hirons Blog has become my skin care
bible and so if she says balm, then that’s what I will be putting on my face.
Amen.
There are two balms I have been using and really loving, one
is more of a budget and the other is a luxury. Let’s start with Luxury…
If you have been losing hours to beauty blogs and YouTube
videos them I’m sure you have heard the words “Emma Hardie” uttered a thousand
times. I always think if enough people say good things about a product then
there is just no denying that you need it. (That’s my rule and I’m sticking to
it). So I did just that.
Packaging: It comes in a glass tub, maybe not the most
convenient but sure looks good in your bathroom. Although it seems to break a
little easy, I have heard other people say this and I already have 2 small cracks
appearing.
Product: This goes on almost like a thick oil and feels
incredible on your face, and trust me a little goes a long way! Spread the balm
all over your face and wipe off with a warm muslin cloth or face cloth. My skin
feels soft, nourished and clean without that feeling that you have rubbed off a
layer of skin. I am really enjoying this product and can see what all the hype
is about. After using if daily for a few weeks, it definitely evens skin tone
and hydrates my face. It’s safe to say this will be a constant repurchase!
Price: £34, it’s a little more expensive than other
cleansers but it wouldn’t put me off. It really is worth all the pennies.
Now, through beauty searching I came across another balm on
A Model Recommends YouTube channel called Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm. I
had never heard of this brand before and was purely going in curiosity and recommendation.
Packaging: Not as fancy as Emma Hardie, but a convenient
tube that is easy to use.
Product: I have been really impressed with this product and
find myself mixing between the Emma Hardie Cleaning Balm and this one almost
equally. It is very, very similar in texture, possibly a little thinner. Spreads
really well and so you don’t need to use much product at all. As it is a
melting balm you do feel it, well melting, on your face!
Price: £14.50. More than half the price of the Emma Hardie
Balm, and to be honest not that noticeably different! I would recommend this
balm to anyone on a big or small budget.
Well, that was a right balm up! No matter what the budget
there is a balm for you.
xx
