Long Weekend- what brushes? Now, I know I can't be the only one who has the usual dilemmas of "i'm only going for a few days, but what If I want to do a smokey eye" or "what if I want to some detailed eyeliner" when packing for a long weekend.

But, I have came to the conclusion that none of the above will ever happen. I won't be needing brushed for such occasions, because Im probably going to be throwing make up on my face thats basic and quick. So I have put together what I think are the main brushes you will need should you be whisked away for a long weekend this winter.

The first in my brush bag is for the face, i'll be packing away my trusty expert face brush, but you can always just drop your tools for this one and use your little fingers for your base. Cheeks, grab your favourite or most travel friendly brush, for me that is the Real Technique contour brush. It is perfect for blush whether it be cream or powder.

For Bronzer, I don't tend to take my big powder brush as its too big and to be honest for a few days I can live with using a smaller one. So for me, its the MAC 129SE, which was part of as set and is a small travel size powder brush.

For the eyes, I recommend cream eye shadows for all over your lid like the Maybelline Colour Tattoo's or Barry M crayon pencils as they can be easily applied and you can smudge in with your fingers. I would take a crease brush, I'll be taking my MAC 226SE which came from the same set as my powder one, so it is a little smaller than average and great for throwing in your bag. This just gives your eye a little depth and you always have the option of going for some smokiness if the moment takes you!

A good brush for the lash line, top and bottom, is the Zoeva smudger brush. If you haven't already checked out Zoeva brushes then you really should they are great quality, and super reasonably priced.

Those are 5 brushes that I think will get you through any long weekend…not to minimise everything else..? wish me luck!

Product Of The Week # 8

Now, If you follow the Hush The Fuss Facebook page then you will know that the Product Of The Week is a regular feature. And instead of writing a lengthy post on my lustings for my particular product I thought best to contain it here.

This week is a high coverage concealer, and boy have I needed it! Estee Lauder have really brought it with this double wear high coverage concealer. It glides on hiding those pesky dark circles, one thing I would say is you need to use a moisturiser before hand, otherwise it might cling to the drier parts of your eye. This has definitely rescued me from looking too dead, and you can use a little more that you first think.

For me this is a winner, and every once in a while you need to invest in some good products.

Keeping Up With Korres

At the beginning of this year I had read a lot about the Korres Lip Butters and couldn't find any stockists in Glasgow, so took to online shopping and snapped up the pomegranate colour.

I am so impressed these lip butters, they are surprisingly pigmented so not only do you get lovely soft lips they are great for during the day to add a little bit of colour to your lips. As in my recent Get Ready With Me video, I wear these either on their own, or under a lipstick to give a colour a little more depth of colour and a little extra moisture. Pomegranate is a softer rose colour, and looks very natural on the lips.

While I was in Greece this summer, the home land of Korres, I picked up the colour Quince Lip Butter. It is a stronger pink so i think this shade will be perfect for Autumn. While there the Wild Rose Moisturiser caught my eye and I couldn't leave without it. I really like this moisturiser it is rich, but feels very light and gives your skin a little bit of a luminous glow, without being oily or greasy.

I had never really paid much attention to Korres and as brand and after trying few things I am sold, and would put their lip butter up at the top of my list!

Tootsies

This week has definitely marked the beginning of Winter with a pretty sharp turn in the weather. But before you throw your feet into wooly socks and boots, I like to give them a little pampering.

Soak your feet either in the bath or over the edge, and let them dry off so as you can go in with this rather lethal looking device…

This is perfect for buffing the soles of your feet and leaving them lovely and smooth, and although this looks like it would be painful trust me it is not! It has became a pedicure must lately, as its easy to use and does the not so pleasant job of making feet look pretty.

I add some moisturiser as a little treat, and if I have the time ill massage it in..to the best of my very limited abilities. I like the peppermint of this moisturiser as it feels like it help to revive my feet after being on them all day, very soothing and refreshing.

For my toes I do the exact same as my finger nails, which i did a whole post on this routine here. The only new addition to feet is the CND Cuticle Eraser. This has been really good for reducing your cuticles and making the process of doing your toe cuticles less horrendous, it makes me shiver even thinking of it. Tip if you are buying this..it smells, and it smells bad but I can live with these things if its working which it seems to be.

So thats my advice this week, take time and pamper the old tootsies that you stand on all day!

Top 5 Brushes

There are some brushes that are essentials and some that are, well, not so much. So I've put together my top 5 brushes that I think can create pretty much any look.

The Face. It has to be the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, I am a fan of the Buffing brush also but the Expert Face Brush just takes it. Easy to blend and doesn't soak up too much product, all winning attributes of a good face brush in my book.

The Powder. I love a big, full powder brush and the Real Techniques powder brush really brings it. It is big and fluffy, perfect for adding a dusting of colour to an otherwise pale looking face in a couple of strokes.

The Cheeks. A multi-use brush here, and again with the Real Techniques (are you seeing a theme here). I like the Setting Brush for contour, blush and highlight. Depending on my mood I grab this brush for either one of those, and it works really well for all three. Pointed for contouring to create some cheekbones, full enough to apply blusher and small enough to highlight the cheekbones. In my opinion an excellent all rounder.

The Eyes. I recommend 2 brushes for the eyes, one for applying to the lid and one for the lash line for liner. Not to sound like a broken record but I'm pulling out another Real Techniques for this one, the Shading Brush is ideal for either applying a base colour all over your lid or it's great for creating a little drama in the crease. For the lash line I always reach for my trust Mac 266, it never fails for a clean, fine line.

There was quire a lot of Real Techniques in there (wonder how many times I've written that in this post) but the brushes are really good quality. Easy to clean and work with so if you are looking for some new brushes or starting out on make up I would recommend this!

What are you go to brushes?

Customised Planning

A while back I read a blog about a great personal planner that can be customised and I thought it was a really great idea.

With studying, working and blogging a girl needs some planning in her life and this is the perfect solution. It is an online company called Personal Planners, and in a few easy steps you can select your size, customise and order your planner.

The front cover/back cover: You can select to upload a picture or using the app PicFrame mix a few together. If you are looking for some inspiration there are standard colours or images you can choose from. I went for a black and white theme with my photos, and one red rose for some colour. For the back I went for some tartan, keeping it patriotic! With red running through it to tie in with the rose on the front cover.

Layout: The inside is organised by you to suit you, perfect! you choose the layout and what fields you need more of. I went for one horizontal dates and at the bottom, one note box on the left and a lined section on the right. Covering all the bases I think!

Size: Another decision, the size. I went for the A5, when it first arrived I thought this was going to be a little small, turns out its perfect for your handbag. All depends on what you are going to use it for, and where your going to carrying it.

So if like me, you miss the days of school planners and feeling every so slightly unorganised then get yourself a customised planner. I am loving mine.

Day To Night Make Up

Time to time we need to turn work make up into something a little more livelier for night time. No easy task. I recently met with one of my friends (who recently got engaged, you should see her rock!) for some dinner after work, and thinking on what you would need in 9 hours time to make yourself look in the land of the living. So here are, what I think to be, essentials for going from day to night.

Eyes: I would go a little more smokey for night time. On this occasion I used Maybelline colour tattoo in On and On Bronze all over my lid, applied with my finger, then some MAC Satin Taupe in the crease and along the lash line to smoke it all out.

Face: For this look I used the Dior BB cream, its a real favourite of mine. A few dabs on your face with this and work it in using your hands and its like the clock wound back to 8 hours ago!

Cheeks: A little highlighter to shake off the working day, The Balm Mary Lou Highlighter was my perk me up of choice.

Lips: Smack on some colour to the lips and your good to go sip cocktails all night long.

So that's a subtle day to night look, ready for sipping cocktails and chatting the night away!

One Word: Luminous

Well with velvet skin taking to all the runways in New York and London Fashion week, it's clearly the way forward this season.

*image from beautyfile.com

And, I think I have the answer….Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. I have been loving this foundation lately, its perfect for giving you that glow but your skin looks like silk

It's super blend-able, and you can build up the coverage so depending on what your doing you can manage how much coverage you are getting. Perfect for those girls like me, who prefer to look natural during the day but can have a little bit of a kick in the evening!

I have shade 4 and its perfect for my skin tone, and seamlessly melts into my skin. The best thing about this foundation is that there is no SPF, which means that when photos are taken there is no flashback leaving you with a whiter face.

Let the selfies begin!

Fashion Haul #1

Carrying on from the beauty haul post, some clothing pieces for my Autumn wardrobe made its way into my bag!

I picked up a few pieces from H&M, first was a floral dress that will look good with a baggy jumper, or cosy cardigan with some boots. Florals are still in this season, so any summer purchases I've made can also be tampered with to better fit the colder weather. This dress was £24.99 and will be good for work and casual outings at the weekend. I also picked up a more casual dress in a blue/grey. Again this will be good for layering and being cosy and comfy in. this was only £12.99, and there was a few other colours so I could see myself sauntering back for another! Lastly i picked up this fluffy jumper. Textures, particularly hair and fluff and really big this season and this is perfect for layering or with jeans and some boots. Best past this was only £10 from H&M. Its new in, so i would hurry fast if you fancy snapping up one of these bad boys!
*blouse from topshop

I also found myself in the Florence &Fred in Tesco while food shopping, and they are bringing it for a few key pieces this season! Tartan is another big trend  and i spied this little tartan skirt (£16) and nabbed it. It will be perfect with tights and a baggy jumper or smarten it up with a shirt and some flats. Another skirt I picked up was maroon with white polka dots (£14). You can't go wrong with skater skirt, can you?

I feel this is only the tip of the iceberg…coats, boots and plenty more.

Beauty Haul #1

If you follow my Facebook page you will know that I have stared a product of the week feature, however I have been poorly this week so no products have been used…although other people probably wished I had used some kind of beauty product! I can only apologise for that.

As a result of feeling unwell, I decided on Saturday that enough was enough and I needed to make myself look and in turn feel better. In my mind this lead to some shopping, comfort shopping? Work with me here! I would like to point out that the beauty purchases made, were not helped by Boots having a promotion on (buy on get 1 half price), they only enable the problem!

I picked up some Rimmel Stay Matte powder, as the loose Rimmel powder I have is just way to messy and I can't cope with it going everywhere all the time. It will be getting softy exchanged for this much more drawer friendly powder. The colour is 001 Transparent, perfect for dusting over make up to help is set and last. This L'oreal blush in Rosewood I saw in a recent tutorial and loved how it looked, so of course I had to have it. Immediately. It a lovely warm colour, so will be great for autumn when more rich colours make there way back to us. Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express also made its way into my bag, who doesn't want long volumed lashes? Of course no boots promotion that involves Essie gets past me and so I had to pick up a new shade. Sticking with the autumn theme I decided on Sole Mate, a lovely deep plum colour. As much as I love summer with bright colours and pastels, you can never go wrong with a deep dark colour for Autumn/Winter.

My whole reason for entering boots was my need for the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, I have seen a lot of people use this and switch between the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and, well I have no other reason that I too felt I needed to be switching it up! This brush is only available in the Core Collection, so there is a contouring, pointed foundation and detailer brush all in this collection. I did only want the buffing brush, but lets be honest I will use the others and love all the other Real Technique brushes I have so seems like a sound investment.

Leaving boots and going on to my favourite purchase is the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in shade 4. I have wanted this for a while and kind of forgot/put it off as I got distracted by other make up and shiny things! But, I couldn't resist this anymore. It looks flawless on and can be sheer or built up, really the best of both worlds.

Lastly, and a little impulsed if I'm honest, was the Australian Native Botanicals Shampoo and Conditioner. I have never heard of this brand, tried it, read anything on it. I just saw it, read no sulphate, loved that it was a pump and next thing I was paying for it. I will need to report back on this one, and see how I get on with it.

August Favourites

Can you believe summer is over? More importantly, can you believe we actually saw some pretty nice weather for consecutive days. A miracle in itself. As we come into September, and in my mind officially autumn, i thought id share some of my August/Summer favourites.

Hair Care: I took the plunge in the month of August and purchased some Macadamia products, boy am I glad I did. The No Tangle has been a real life saver, when rushing around getting for work ready after a 6.30am bootcamp! As has the Michael Mercier Wet Brush. I was a tangle teezer lover, until i get dropping the thing and found it more and more awkward to use with wet hair and inevitable hands as there is no handle. The wet brush eases all those worries, and is a doddle to run through my hair. Combined with the Macadamia No Tangle…ooo bliss!

Body: this is not just an august favourite, but a Summer one, Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Body Butter. Now I know I mentioned it had been sunny for consecutive days, but probably not enough to use an after sun almost every day, well I'd say you were wrong! I don't think this needs to be resigned to only after sun, it smells to delicious and summery to only use on the odd occassion. It has helped prevent me from peeling for sure, but it has also helped my skin stay lovely and hydrated through these sunny days. I will miss using this, and already can't wait for next summer where I can crack it out again

Make Up: I have a few make up favourites (surprise, surprise). Let's start with nails, and of course Essie. Cute as a button has been a great sumer colour, its fresh, compliments a tan and is a versatile colour. I'm sure ill still sneak it in over the autumn, how could I not? The next will be no surprise to those who read my blog…Dior Rose Diamond. wow wow wow! I still love this as much as the first time I used it, and it's one of my favourite parts of my make up routine. If you missed my whole love blog on this you can read it here. I have been applying my Dior Rose Diamond with the real techniques setting brush. It's probably not what it is suppose to be used for but it works really well for highlighting, it is small enough you can control exactly were you want to highlight and feel so soft and lushious on the face! Yet another great Real Techniques find. Lastly on the make up front is Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze. I found myself reaching for this a lot over the last few weeks, whether it to be for work or a night out. The shade is very workable and you can build up darkness for more of a smokey eye, it also blends really well with other eye shadows when I use it as a base. Not to mention last all night, maybe not 24hrs…but definitely as long as I need it to.

My whole Summer favourite has been lovely bright mornings. I have been going to a bootcamp 3 times a week which is at 6.30am and getting up at that time with the sun out and the skies being relatively bright has made it a lot easier and always started the day off on the right foot.

Leave a comments below or on Facebook with some of your August/Summer favourites. Or Tweet @hushthefuss with some recommendations!

Top 3 Budget Nail Polishes

Those who follow Hush The Fuss on Facebook will know that I love doing my nails and regularly post what manicure I have done that week, it is fair to say I am one of those people who like to have their nails looking pretty. So I thought I would put together some of my favourite budget nail polishes.

It is no secret that my heart lies with Essie nail polishes, and you can read all about my over here. But I also like to pick up a bargain, so heres my best 3 budget brands.

Number one had to to be the Maybelline Colour Show Polishes. These are only £2.99 and come in some really great colours. I have only recently discovered this range and have only good things to say! The formula is easy to control, not too runny or heavy. I always put 2 coats on polish on, but have found with some colours a third coat is definitely needed, which didn't really bother me.This collection is definitely worth a visit.

Second has to be Barry M. I think these are great nail polishes and are a bargain at £2.99 or £3.99 for the gelly formula. The brushes are a little thin, but still really easy to manage and you get really great coverage and colour from this formula. There is a great selection of colours and with the gelly formula addition, then there will definitely be a colour for you. I haven't used these as much this summer, but this brand is a go to for me for the darker winter colours.

Lastly, is a polish I have had on a lot this summer. Rimmel 60 Seconds in Rose Libertine, its a beaut! I really love this colour, its fresh and the perfect mix between pale and pastel. The formula is easy to use, gives you really good coverage and the colour is versatile and pigmented perfectly.

Treat your nails to a budget manicure!

Keep 'Em Clean

Cleaning make up brushes can be quite the boring task, but it's really important to keep 'em clean so as no nasty bacteria mingles around on your face.

I do mine as often as possible, but gauge it on how often you use your brushes. For me, my Real Techniques Face Expert Brush is a must once a week as I use it almost every day. So this will be a guide to how I wash my make up brushes and help them keep there shape.

You will need some Johnsons Baby Shampoo, if its soft enough for little babies then its definitely soft enough for my brushes! And sellotape, go with me here. I promise.

Step 1: Take a small amount on your fingertips, grab the brush that is about to get a new lease of life and swirl it in to the baby shampoo on your fingers. You will see all the make up begin to come off and foam on your hand. Wash your hand and repeat.

Step 2: Run the water slowly and place the brush ends under the tap, be sure to miss the top where the handle is (this will loosen all the hairs and they will begin to fall out while you use it! Top Tip!). Squeeze out any excess and make sure no shampoo runs out. If you feel there is still some make up lurking in your brush then repeat step 2.

Step 3: Give them a little dap on a towel, it will make them dry quicker.

Step 4: I can't be the only person who has found, and been put off from washing brushes incase they loose their shape. Fear no more I have learnt the secret to retaining perfectly shaped brushes. Get some selloptape, roll it over on itself, as if you are making double sided tape and then push up over your brush. This will hold all the hairs together keep the shape the brush should be. Line the brushes on an edge, and let them dry over night.

Job's a good'un!

Who would of thought some baby shampoo and sellotape would be the answer to brush washing woes, but its definitely mine.

Bioderma Madness

You may or may not be aware that the blogs are wild for some Bioderma action, but they are. Everyone and their pal has this product and there is a good reason for it. It works.

I use this as a pre cleanse to take away all the make up and build up over the day, so as my cleansing routine actually gets in and around my skin. I was in two minds about this product, I felt it wasn't anything to spectacular, but then I would use it and be on the bioderma bandwagon again. Confusing! But I have taken the executive decision and decided that I am on the bandwagon, and I'm staying on it.

It really is great, and I can never remember my doubts when I am actually using it! It really is as simple as they say, pour some of the liquid on to a cotton wool pad (I tend to split mine in two and hold each half over and eye), hold for a few seconds ever so slightly moving and your eye makeup will be gone. I had quite dark eye make up on at the weekend and this really worked a charm in removing it, without smearing half of it down my face. Pop some more on a clean cotton wool pad and wipe all over your face, and eye area again if you need it.

Previously I have used a milk formula to remove my make up and it always left my skin feeling a bit raw and my eyes a little stingy. This has not happened to me with the product, its literally like magic water.

Remind my why I was ever on the fence about this product?? Ah, its a little pest to get a hold of! Well…not that bad really, you can get some here (LINK). Yeah, really no reason for my fence sitting with this one glad I have came to my senses and landed on the right side!

4 Clutch Bag Necessities

As it is the weekend many of us will be ditching our mid week bags/suitcases for a more appropriate size. A girls best friend at the weekend, the clutch!

We all don't mean to carry our lives around with us every day, it just kind of happens and the fear of "what if.." grabs you when you know you're out all day, but at the weekend we are free to leave those "what if.." fears at home and have the task of cramming our weekly bag into a dainty clutch. Disaster, right? Wrong, I think so long as you have these 4 things you will be good to go.

I can't be the only one who carries tissues with them, everywhere. These are essential especially on  a night out for those touch ups.

I also like to carry 2 brushes with me, the one i used for my corners, generally a lighter colour to make your eyes lovely and awake looking (even if you have been up since 6am). For me, this is a must as I touch my eyes a lot and usually end up rubbing off the colour in corners. I don't take the shadow i sued just the brush as i have blind faith that there will be colour on it, so far this has not failed me.

The second brush is the crease brush, for your smokey eye days. Again, i don't take the eye shadow I used just the brush and the same blind faith has done me well so far. This means I can touch up the smokiness or make it a little darker as the night goes on. Warning, this is not the best idea intoxicated, advisable to stay clear from any brushes with dark eye shadow on them if you get to that point in the night.

Lastly, take your lipstick with you. I have been loving YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in shade 5 recently when painting the town red. These lipsticks are great as they are so pigmented the colour is great, and they have a shine to them so no need for a gloss on top.

Whether you are making the last of the summer like I was with some bare legs and heels, stick to these 4 clutch bag necessities and you can dance the night away.

Ren To The Rescue

There is nothing I love more than a good face mask, for me its a great way to pamper after a long week.

My most recent favourite for a clear out of the skin is the Ren Invisible Pores Detox Mask

Packaging: Firstly it is easy to use, no squeezing tubes or mess as it is in a friendly pump bottle. The easier the better!

Product: It's clay based so its goes on and looks like a clay mask, then hardens around your face. After this take a damp cloth and wash off the mask, I usually leave mine on for about 15 mins or until it feels like its hardened enough. As this is clay based it is designed to draw out all those nasty impurities your skin gathers over the course of a day or days, and I have to say that this really does work. It's a real treat for the face and after a day of all the seasons and air cons this really helps to level my skin again.

Results: As much as I understand some products need time to work their magic on our face, I'm sure plenty of you reading this agree that a quick fix is what we really want! This really delivers on that front, the next morning I always notice how healthy and soft my skin looks.

Now, the tricky part when do you use your mask? As I have been soaking up all of the goodness of many beauty blogs and adding to my collection (rapidly) you really need to think about when you are using products. For me, I use a mask after my cleanse and then my toner and hydrating products afterwards. This means the mask is working on clean skin, and my toners can take off anything left by the mask. Logical…I hope!

Dior Rose Diamond

My dad refers to this as “glitter for your face” wrong, but very sweet.
I am all about highlighters lately and when I spied this Dior Rose Diamond, it had to be mine! The compact is sectioned into warm rose, pink colours going down to pale pinks and a white, perfect for a dewy look.

This is ideal for brightening your face, I tend to use the darker colours on the apples of my checks and then the lightest shades dusted over my cheekbones to highlight. The effect is amazing. It really lifts your face, and gives you an all-round healthy looking glow that looks natural. As it is a powder it is easy to control and give a little speck of light (or glitter, if you listen to my dad) where you need it. To clear up the glitter myth, I wouldn’t say it was glittery as I am not a fan of glittery products but there is a lovely, subtle shimmer through it which catches the light wherever you are.
As this is a high end brand there is obviously a price tag, but when did that ever stop us girls? Diamonds are a girl’s best friend after all, or in this case glitter.

The Balm Up

Incase you had missed the memo, cleansing your face with a balm is all the rage. I have no strong feelings against other cleansers but as I have mentioned in other posts Caroline Hirons Blog has become my skin care bible and so if she says balm, then that’s what I will be putting on my face. Amen.
There are two balms I have been using and really loving, one is more of a budget and the other is a luxury. Let’s start with Luxury…
If you have been losing hours to beauty blogs and YouTube videos them I’m sure you have heard the words “Emma Hardie” uttered a thousand times. I always think if enough people say good things about a product then there is just no denying that you need it. (That’s my rule and I’m sticking to it). So I did just that.

Packaging: It comes in a glass tub, maybe not the most convenient but sure looks good in your bathroom. Although it seems to break a little easy, I have heard other people say this and I already have 2 small cracks appearing.
Product: This goes on almost like a thick oil and feels incredible on your face, and trust me a little goes a long way! Spread the balm all over your face and wipe off with a warm muslin cloth or face cloth. My skin feels soft, nourished and clean without that feeling that you have rubbed off a layer of skin. I am really enjoying this product and can see what all the hype is about. After using if daily for a few weeks, it definitely evens skin tone and hydrates my face. It’s safe to say this will be a constant repurchase!
Price: £34, it’s a little more expensive than other cleansers but it wouldn’t put me off. It really is worth all the pennies.
Now, through beauty searching I came across another balm on A Model Recommends YouTube channel called Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm. I had never heard of this brand before and was purely going in curiosity and recommendation.
Packaging: Not as fancy as Emma Hardie, but a convenient tube that is easy to use.
Product: I have been really impressed with this product and find myself mixing between the Emma Hardie Cleaning Balm and this one almost equally. It is very, very similar in texture, possibly a little thinner. Spreads really well and so you don’t need to use much product at all. As it is a melting balm you do feel it, well melting, on your face!
Price: £14.50. More than half the price of the Emma Hardie Balm, and to be honest not that noticeably different! I would recommend this balm to anyone on a big or small budget.
Well, that was a right balm up! No matter what the budget there is a balm for you.

Luscious Locks

Always one for a dupe or a similar but cheaper product, I think I’ve found another one!

For the last year I have been using Moroccan Oil in my hair, and it has really made a difference in terms of hydration, softness and general look. It’s fair to say that I am a fan of Moroccan oil! As I was recently going on holiday I didn’t think that the packaging was too handy to travel with and also didn’t want to dispense any into a container, with oil I think this is only asking for trouble in a suitcase. I stumbled across the Avon MoroccanArgan Oil and thought the perfect time to give it a try and see what it was made of.

Glad I did, as it was a real treat for my locks after lounging by the pool and in and out of salt water. It left my hair super soft, combated all frizz from humidity and as a result my hair is in great condition after a week of being abused by the sun. As I have a slight ombre colour going on, I was really cautions this year about preventing my blonde going green (the horror!) and also keeping my hair hydrated. This really did the trick, and although I don’t trend to style my hair on holiday (I’m more of a salt spray and go kind of gal) this definitely helped in keeping everything in check. Just run some through the end of your hair, not going as far as the roots then blow dry and you are good to go.
Now for the great news, its £5.50 compared to the usual £30 a pop, that’s a saving of over a fifth. Grab yourself an Avon catalogue or get online and snap some of this bad boy up.

Holiday Make Up

After a day catching some sun, and lathering myself in sun lotion the last thing I want to do is pack on the make up at night time. So holiday make up, for me, has to be light and easy.

I use to have bad habit of over packing make up, taking every brush and every shadow "just in case". I've learnt the error of my ways and know that on holiday I usually will not spend half as much time getting ready, but still want to look picture perfect.

I have been loving the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum and think it will be perfect on holiday, its super light but gives really great coverage. I would be lost without my Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Powder for that summer time glow. Concealer, is essential no matter what country you are in, and Mac Studio Finish Concealer is the perfect travel size but gives great coverage under the eyes, and where need be. 3 products and the face is done, I'm ruthless.

MUA seem to have been a go to for me this summer. The eyeliners are in great colours, and are really highly pigmented. Not to mention they are only £1 each. They also last for ever on your eyes, even the water line. The blushes, are creamy and work in well to the skin so I'll be taking my Bittersweet blush for the perfect pink cheeks (and hopefully not in a sunburn way!) I'll be cheating on my Urban Decay Naked Palette for the MUA undressed eye shadow palette. I have good reason for this though. One, its so much more travel friendly and as I am trying to pack efficiently this won. Two, its a complete dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Palette so...really its a win win.

Now, I purchased two new products that I can't wait to try out one of which are the Bourjois Colour Boosts. I bought two, Fuchsia Libre(right) and Red Sunrise (left). I have only had these a matter of days, but already they have won me over. The shades are perfect for summer and they feel great on your lips.

Another purchase I have heard every one and their blogger rave about are the Maybelline Colour Tattoo's. I picked up the shades On and On Bronze and Pink Gold. Both are great for summer as they are shimmery and workable colours. Bronze if you are wanting a more of a smokey look and the Pink Gold looks perfect for a fresh, shimmery evening look. I can not wait to try these and out and report back!

Very excited for holidays now all the packing is done, and hopefully I will not be as bogged down carrying things I will never wear/use!

I'm away to tan, relax and some major girlie time with my sister.
