So the sun has got his hat on Hip Hip Hooray!!... It had to
happen at some point and thankfully it has. This now means that our limbs that
are usually covered up with tights and wool jumpers need to be exposed to the
sunshine and other people. So I will be doing a few blogs on prep to go form
hibernation to summer.
The first step of any “legs oot” routine needs to be
exfoliating. I use to use the exfoliation gloves, and I still do as I think
they work really well, but I have found myself reaching for scrubs and not any
old scrubs, salt scrubs.
These scrubs are put on dry or damp skin and they really get
the skin feeling smooth and fresh. I have been switching between a few and
thought I would share them with you.
Bliss Hot Salt Scrub was an impulse purchase and my first
introduction to salt scrubs. With this I would recommend standing on a towel or
applying in the shower as it does get messy! Slap this all over your body
before showering working it in to your skin, as you do it will all fall apart
and spread along your skin (with a little encouragement). Step in the shower
and it will all run off you, leaving your skin super smooth. I was really
surprised at how well this worked and how silky my skin felt afterwards, as you
can see from the photo this has been well used. I would definitely re purchase
this product as it worked really well and the results lasted a reasonable
length of time.
Nspa products are new to me, and I have mixed feelings
towards them, although I do like this scrub but the packaging is so
inconvenient! You almost break your fingers trying to squeeze this almost solid
product out. But moving on from my package issue, the scrub is applied to damp
skin, so I usually jump in the shower and quickly dash myself with water then
apply this scrub all over. It’s a strange sensation, it feels almost warm when
it reacts with the water on your skin, but once you wash it off your skin it
left feeling really smooth and smells lovely! I don’t know if I would buy this
again purely because of the packaging, this whole range is very reasonable
priced so if good value outweighs the stress of breaking your own fingers, then
this is the product for you.
Now, I was very late on to the Soap & Glory bandwagon.
Why? I have no idea. But so far I have really enjoyed all the products I have
used. One of them being the Shea Butter, Sugar And Peach Seed Body Polish.
Apply to dry skin and then wash off in the shower (in case you hadn’t got that
recurring theme). I thought that this was really easy to use as it spread a lot
easier than the other ones I have tried and it smells like a flowers, which is
always delightful! It leaves my skin feeling smooth, clean and ready for some
serious pampering.
I don't have a favourite and tend to alternate between the three of these scrubs, variety is the spice of life right? It’s important to exfoliate as it removes the top layers of
skin that are dead, this meaning your moisturisers actually reach where they
are needed and can brighten the skin. In my opinion, a must before baring those
legs and arms.
